New role for Mike
PRESS RELEASE dated 2005-11-22
Mike Unwalla, principal of TechScribe, has been appointed as rapporteur for the Independent Authors Special Interest Group (IASIG).
"IASIG is a group of professional technical writers, all of whom belong to the UK professional organization for technical communicators," explains outgoing rapporteur, Mike Plant of Trenethick Technical Publications. "I proposed Mike as my successor because he has valuable experience of the business and promotional aspects of being a freelance technical author."
"I knew from his previous role as one of our proofreaders that Mike always does a very thorough job," says Marian Newell, journal editor. "He is also involved with regional and national business organizations that provide him with a broader context for reporting our members' activities. His quarterly summaries of the group discussions will make a valuable contribution to Communicator, our professional journal."
Mike Unwalla adds, "It's a real challenge to distil 100 to 150 fact-filled e-mails into a few paragraphs, but I'm thoroughly enjoying my new role."
